Gold Service Preventative Maintenance Agreements are generally structured on a one off basis, depending upon the complexity of the equipment and the demand placed on that equipment, which will generally dictate the frequency of service visits. As a rough guide, the cost for two visits per year to a suburban location would generally be of the order of 3 to 8% of the initial equipment cost per year, depending upon the degree of complexity of the equipment. This cost includes travel time and labour for the preventative maintenance, but does not cover parts or consumable items needed for the service, which would be chargeable. Any items found to be needing attention would be the subject of a written Condition Report, which would include an estimate of the price for the parts and labour to rectify the problem(s). Where items need specific calibration, such as particle counters and size analysers, this would not be part of a routine maintenance visit but the subject of a special agreement. Where chemistry analysers need to be dismantled, cleaned and re-built, any chemicals needed for the checking of the operation and the making of solutions, calibration solutions and QC samples will be the responsibility of the customer.
